Martial Arts is good clean fun for kids

...and a great way to give kids a head start on life. At Spirit Taekwondo, they'll learn benefits of self-discipline and confidence develop coordination and increase strength and flexibility. Because a structure of respect is built in Martial Arts, children develop the ability to listen, learn, and achieve within a highly regulated environment.

Classes for Children

Pee Wee Class – Ages 4 to 6 Years

Both Beginner and Advanced Pee Wees will attend these classes.

The Beginner Pee Wees will attend 1 or 2 classes a week

The Advanced Pee Wees will attend one pee wee class and one Beginner children’s class.

Children – Ages 6 to 11 years

The Beginner Classes are designed for the beginner Martial Artist. Students that are White to the Green-stripe Level may attend these classes.

The Advanced Classes are designed for the higher belts levels, Green Belt and up. These classes will offer more advanced techniques for the expert Martial Artist.

The Open Classes are designed with everyone in mind. Starter students will get to see how higher belt levels perform the techniques properly and the Advanced students will be able to practice their basic techniques. Without a strong root and foundation, advanced students will not be able to perform at a higher level of training, therefore they also can learn from a starter student.

Junior – Ages 12 to 15 years

The Junior Classes are for the mature teen student. Each class is designed to help the beginner learn their techniques while testing the limits of the advanced students

Martial Arts is high energy, explosive, exciting, and motivating. Adults love our program. It's never too late to get started.

Whether you're 4 or 64, we have a class and program just right for you!

We make learning challenging as well as enjoyable. Not only do our students learn the most, they have the most fun too!

Adult Classes

Adult – Ages 16 and up

The Adult Classes are designed to give a work out for anyone at any level. You work at your pace with the assistance of your instructor. Even though there will be all belt levels in these classes, the instructor will individualize each session for you to make you comfortable and progress at your rate.

Family – All Ages 6 and up

These Classes are designed for the Family. Anyone can attend even if you don’t have another family member in class with you. Each week the class format will change. Some classes, the ages or belt levels will be split, other days you will train together as a group of young and old or beginner and advanced. This will be the highlite of weekly family activities. The family that kicks together sticks together.

Black Belt Preparation – All ages

This class is to help students prepare for their ultimate goal, their Black Belt. Whether you are testing for your 1st Dan Black Belt or going for your Taekwondo Master’s Degree, this class will help you prepare for that next level.

Sparring Club – All ages Yellow belt and up

Learn to use your skills with power, speed and reaction and train like an Olympian. Learn more of the sport of Taekwondo and feel the adrenaline of sparring. Whether you want to compete in tournaments or not, sparring is the closest thing to real life self-defense situations.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu

Possibly the premier ground-fighting martial art. Made famous by Royce Gracie in the mid-1990′s, it specializes in submission grappling when both fighters are on the ground. Techniques include positional control and submissions such as chokes and arm locks. In addition, the ground fighting strategy and techniques of Brazilian JuJitsu are among the most sophisticated in the world. Full details on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Yoga

This course is designed to bring students general knowledge and awareness of the body to a new level. Promoting strength and flexibility throughout, Yoga is designed to realign the body and spine using Asana (physical poses) and Pranayama (breathing techniques). All classes are taught with a multi-level approach so are good for the extreme beginner, right to experienced yoga students and teachers. Focusing on an array of poses along with flowing sequences, Bonnie’s classes will leave you with a feeling of confidence to take on any yoga class or workshop you can find.
